Apollo's Arrow - Cast of Characters

ALEXANDROS -King of Calydon and hero of the Trojan War. Beloved by his people and worshipped as a god throughout the ancient world for having survived several near-fatal wounds throughout his military career.

ASENATH -Alexandros’ wife. Beautiful high priestess of a secret nature cult on Calydon that worships the mysterious Mistress of Animals.

TIMOKRATES -Royal scribe who chronicles the Apollo’s Arrow story as it takes place on Calydon on a set of clay tablets.

EUMEAUS -Alexandros’ longtime friend and former charioteer who lost both hands in the Trojan War and wears gold prostethsis. Eumeaus does not practice the king’s quiet asceticism, and enjoys wine and the company of lovely ladies of noble birth.

PILEUS -A giant who is one of the surviving lords who fought under Alexandros at Troy and rule various districts on Calydon. Pileus suffered a mace wound to the head that effects his memory at inopportune moments.

IDAS -Alexandros’ arch-rival on Calydon. A nobleman from a wealthy family on the mainland who uses the king’s inability to catch the murderer to prove he has lost his divine powers and plots a coup to overthrow him.

PHILEMON -Young fisherman asked by Alexandros to guard his daughter during the unrest on Calydon and falls in love.

LYDIA -Daughter of Alexandros and Asenath. A shepherdess learning her mother’s skills of healing and worship of the Mistress of Animals. She falls in love with the young fisherman Philemon.

HIGH PRIEST OF ARGOS -The head of the Temple of Apollo on the Greek mainland and the highest ranking religious official in the ancient world. He visits Calydon during the annual Harvest Festival to investigate rumors of paganism and Alexandros favoring peasants over nobility.

LEMAR WALLACE -Head of the FBI’s Huntington task force. Former NFL linebacker driven to law-enforcement after his father was murdered in the small town in Texas where he grew up.

DR. DIANE HONG -Former space shuttle astronaut and brilliant cyberneticist who developed the mobile evidence-gathering robot Egor as part of the FBI’s ENFORSUR program.

JACK CORBETT -State Department representative sent to find the cause of the massive, global computer intrusion that resulted in the Huntington crime scene being found. A former FBI sniper related to famous big game hunter Col. Jim Corbett.

CARRIE MANN -Twin sister of one of the Huntington Killer’s victims. A talented “black hat” hacker. In her search the man who killed her sister, she finds the solution to the unanswerable question Why? lies buried in a set of tablets from ancient Greece called Apollo’s Arrow.

CODEPHEATER -Slovenly-dressed computer hacker who works as part of the FBI’s ENFORSUR team in exchange for his release from federal prison.

CONNIE SONDARICKER -Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Huntington Task Force and LeMar Wallace’s ambitious and efficient right-hand woman.

LUCINDA BROWN -Attorney sent by the ACLU to safeguard the public during the high-profile Huntington case.

MICHAEL ROSEN -Assistant US District Attorney assigned to the Huntington case.

GENERAL TOWER -Head of a special counter-terrorism unit assigned to safeguard the EXAP-Processor at UC Berkeley during the national emergency following the unauthorized use of the EXAP to locate the Huntington crime scene.

PROFESSOR ERNST ASCHE -The aging linguist who originally found and translated the Apollo’s Arrow tablets and knows the secrets contained within them.

EGOR -Acronym for Evidence Gathering Operations Robot. The large, bipedal robot developed by Dr. Hong as part of the FBI’s ENFORSUR program.

EXAP -Acronym for Exponentially Accelerating Processor. A one-of-a-kind computer processor at the University of California at Berkeley that the Egor robot interfaces with to process trace evidence. All-seeing, all-knowing; the EXAP is the frontier where technology meets religion.
